This is a contrast photograph. It is effective because it follows the composition of the rule of thirds. The dirt behind the leaf causes the colors to stand out drawing much attention to the vibrance in the colors of the leaf.

This photograph is of a disrupted pattern. It is effective because the pattern is obvious, and so is the disruption even though it is subtle.

Sandy-- My photograph

I took this photograph in the South Beach area after Hurricane Sandy. Although this does not follow many photographic compositions, it is evident that people affected by the storm were fed up with the order that things went about in such a way that they'd write on their homes.

This is a a photograph taken of a woman after Hurricane Sandy. Although we cannot see her entire face, it is evident that she is in some type of stress. The way that she has her hands on top of her head indicate her feelings of sorrow.  Despite the fact that the picture is only of her, I can still tell that she has been deeply affected by the hurricane.
