11-15 Learning Reflections Blog

This is my name banner, my first Photoshop assignment.

Last week, I learned how to use the Photoshop software. My first assignment was to create a name banner. At first, this was challenging because found that every little unintentional thing I did caused something else to happen. This especially happened when I used the magnetic lasso tool. Eventually, however, I got the concept of some of  the many tools Photoshop has to offer, and my assignment became fun to do.

11-8 Learning Reflection

When I learned that I would be creating a web page, I was very nervous. I'd never done anything like this before. However, once I finally got a good grasp on the concepts, and understood everything, it was quite simple. I enjoyed making my page, and seeing my work progress.

Learning Reflections 10-17

This past week, my group and I worked on our research and presentations. This experience taught me
how important communication is when dealing with other people. I thought that being a team leader would be easy, however, it was a lot of work to keep up with my own assignment and make sure that the other members of my team were doing their assignments.I didn't want to come off as a dictator but I wanted my teammates to take me seriously.  Some of my team members cooperated, others didn't do much. This showed me that patience is key as well as organization and focus on the task at hand.

9/27 Learning Reflection

This week, I learned how to add an RSS feed and a podcast. I figured it would be easy at first, but I did have to deal with some challenges. Not every website I tried allowed me to as the gadget. After much trial and error, I was finally able to add an NFL RSS feed. When I tried to create my podcast, I thought that I would just be as simple as recording and uploading. However, it wasn't. For me, the whole process s took over a day, but when I finally learned what and how to do it, I was successful

Blog Post #5: What I Know About Blogging

I have never designed a website, so I really don't know much about it. My aunt does, however. After watching how she creates them, I know that it is important to have a home screen that catches the person's attention, but isn't too busy. It should be properly organized and have clear navigation. I hope to learn how to properly create a front end website that will be useful. In life, this could benefit my when being searched by possible employers.

Blog Post #4: Netiquette

Netiquette-  the correct or acceptable way of communicating on the internet.
Good netiquette is important because everything we do on the internet never goes away. It is necessary to maintain a decent reputation for yourself. Places where good netiquette is necessary world be social media, blogging , and /or other public sites.
I think I have good netiquette because I've never done anything inappropriate, or done anything that could possibly be use against me.

Blog Post #3:Digital Footprint

A Digital Footprint  is the the trail you leave after interactions on web.
It if in fact important to have a positive digital footprint . A positive digital footprint is important because it is a way for others to truly get an idea for the type of person you are.( i.e. people in any professional field you want to work in.) After searching myself, I found articles that I didn't even know that I was in. I can improve my digital footprint adding positive things about my self and other things I attend and interact with.
It  matter who you associate yourself with online because people who are a bad influence can effect you.  This could impact you because potential employers tend top get certain impressions about you off what they see from someone you interact with.

Blog Post #2

Academic Integrity- the moral and ethical code/standards that each academic student should follow.
Plagarism- Using someone else's work or ideas as your own
Academic integrity is important bcause it keeps each student accountable for their own work.
By plagiarizing, you can miss out on a chance to learn for your self and get good grasps of  certain concepts. Some of the consequences of plagiarism include detention, a failing grade, suspension, expulsion, a guitly conscience & a bad reputation.

Blog Post #1

A blog is a personal site where you can post and  share whatever you want with whoever you want. I follow  some of the blogs of some of my friends from photo journalism class last year. Blogging can be used to support the learning proceess in our class by elxplaining and giving a more detailed explaination. It can also include refrences, and can allow conversation.

While everyone was on a hunt for bugs, I took the literal approach. This has the pattern of the ground, and captures a photograph of "bugs".

Macro Lense

I took this photograph using the Macro Lense. I used an ISO of 200, because it was bright outside, and I uses the still used the plant mode because of the fact that I was taking a close up and I wanted the background to be blurred out.

School Spirit

I took this photo graph to demonstrate school spirit. However, Luis, is the only one who is truly showing school spirit because he is facing the camera, and has a smile on his face. I used an ISO of 800, because the two boys were in a dark place.

Light Box

This waas my first time using the light box. I tried to use the Rule of Thirds composition, but the lighting on the side of the tennis ball ruins the effect. i used the tennis ball because I knew that the color would especially stand out up against the black.

Spring

I hoped that this photograph would represent spring being that there is a flower and spring shoes. I used  the plant mode to especially make the flower stand out. i used an ISO of 200, but i feel that it could have been higher because it was dull outside.

Emotion

I tried my best to this a photograph of emotion. This photograph was taken under the cafeteria because that area is dark, and I felt that it would go along with the feeling expressed int he photo which is sadness. I used an ISO of 200 to keep the gloominess of the photograph.

Action

I took this photograph outside during the boys lacrosse game. I used an ISO of 400 because it was nice outside, but there was a certain dullness. Also, I used action mode since there was a lot of running involved.

Manual Mode. 7

When I took these four photographs, I used the manual mode. With each photograph that I took, I adjusted the shutter speed. And as shown,  each picture got darker. I know that one reason why the photographs did not come out too successfully was because I was in a semi dark/shaded area.

Aperture Setting- Three people

When I took these three photographs, I use the Aperture mode. My goal was to have each a different person in focus with each photograph I took but, I had a very difficult time in doing so. The first person almost always wound up to be the only one in focus.

Aperture-Rulers.

These four photographs display rulers with different aperture settings. After working with this setting for a while I was finally able to control my depths of focus. The different aperture sizes are clear and effective.

Reflections

My intention in taking this photograph was to have Rucelia's reflection in the mirror that was in Imari's back pocket. This is an effectiove photograph because although it does not follow any composition, the reflection is very noticeable, but not too blunt.

Reflections

My initial goal in taking this photograph was to have Rucelia looking in the mirror, but have Imari's reflection in it. This is am ineffective photograph because Rucelia's face is too blurry, the lighting is bad, and the camera is in the reflection of the mirror.
